Tenerife Dogs Ambassador is poorly..!

Unfortunately Basil the Ambassador for Tenerife Dogs is poorly ,he has Kennel cough, which is a highly contagious disease of the dogs respiratory tract. Apparently dogs of all ages can be affected and the signs that your pooch may have the condition include a dry, harsh convulsive cough. Dogs pick up kennel cough from wherever a lot of dogs hang out, ie kennels, training classes. In Basils case the beach and cafes. Basil says " Well a dog needs to hang out with his mates somewhere..!"
Kennel cough can be caused by a number of bacterial and viral agents. The coughing can last for weeks ..! and can lead to more serious complications such as pneumonia.
Basil though is slowly getting better under the expert care of veterinarian Miquel. Basil says "Yes well, Miquel is a nice guy and he knows his stuff but why does he have too put his thermometer up were the preverbial sun doesn't shine, most embarrassing".
As I was saying Miquel has been treating Basil with anti -inflamminatory drugs and antibiotics and it seems to be working. Basil and his owners have managed at last to get a night's sleep..! the poor pooch was coughing all night.  Basil says " Yeah right,I have been coughing for Tenerife..! "
Here is the pooch himself waking up from a siesta .
